EAST LONDON SHAKESPEARE FESTIVAL PRESENTS

Behind Closed Doors Shakespeare

As part of the Waltham Forest Virtual Culture Programme 2020.

Watch and engage with brilliant local theatre from the comfort of your own couches!
Local professional actors have filmed themselves performing some of Shakespeare’s most famous monologues from any outdoor space they have access to...balconies, gardens and even windows becoming their stage.

Enjoy, respond and tell us what you think.

Response Project

We were thrilled by the amount of people getting in touch who were inspired by the project and would like to try a Shakespeare monologue of their own.

We welcomed all local residents to get involved; we had a fantastic response and we received videos from people who have never performed Shakespeare before, young people, keen performers & professional actors.

Keith Hill - Jaques

Walthamstow based actor Keith Hill has worked at length with Scaffold Shakespeare, including performances at Hampton Court, and toured very widely (which is not, apparently, his way of saying he lives in his car) as Polonius, Claudius, and various other ne’er-do-wells. He played Prospero at Cambridge over ten years ago, (which is where he first met East London Shakespeare Festival, as they now are) and has specialised ever since in much misunderstood men (and occasionally women). He has appeared in Rep in various towns rather more than is sensible, but loves it. He is now about about to start popping up all over the internet in a variety of guises. He also has a very attractive way with an audiobook, if you’re asking. Contact either through the festival, or agent: info@dgpmtheagency.
